Day 29 Of The East Coast

Day 29 Of The East Coast

Location: Airlie Beach

The disadvantage of sleeping in a tent during  summer ... the heat. At least we had some nice showers to use.

Breakfast was great as we had a lovely kitchen area and even a kettle.

Our aim for the day was to find a tour to sail the islands. Marcus found a great tour, sailing and 2.5 house of snorkelling with only 4 other guests on board. It was perfect!
We booked it through the campsite and even managed to get a discount off our camping nights.

Unfortunately we could;t book the tour for the next day however they had two spots left for the day after. We were both very excited!

It was a beautiful day so we decided to head down to Airlie. There was an incredible walkway that took you into Airlie and the Lagoon.
It was simply stunning especially Abell Mariner. It was a 2.4km walk but it was
definitely worth it!
When we arrived at the Lagoon it was not what we had expected. It was a huge swimming pool with grass area's all with views of the Islands. It was incredible!

We spent the majority of the day sunbathing and swimming. We did also take a walk into Airlie, it was by far one of the nicest towns along the East Coast.

It was only when the sun started to set that we decided to head back.

Weirdly Marcus bumped into one of our friends that we went on Straddle island with! Small, small world!

The walk back was equally as incredible and we got some great pictures! After dinner we watched some of Australian's got talent.
